Advantages of pellet heating

Costs of pellet heating

Low costs of boiler room modernization

The pellet burners can be installed in almost every oil boiler and also in solid fuel and gas ones. It means that it is not necessary to change the existing heating system and incur additional expenditures.

Pellet prices

Comparison of pellet and oil prices

Pellet prices do not depend on fluctuation of natural resources prices, because they are produced from generally available waste of plant origin. Pellets must not be imported – pellet or agri-pellet manufacturers can be found in the vicinity. It means no additional transport costs added to the fuel price.

Variety of fuel offer

Pellet prices depend on a raw material which they are produced from. The fuel in the Pellas X burner can be the most expensive, certified and highly energy-efficient pellets without contaminants and low ash content, produced from good wood but also much cheaper agri-pellets with similar calorific value. It is also possible to burn other biomass such as oats or dried cherry pits in the burners – this fuel can be periodically available at affordable prices. However, attention should be paid if this biomass is dry enough.

Comfort of use

Automatic removal of ash from the burner

The Pellas X pellet burner operation is fully automatic. Moreover, two types of advanced technological solutions ensure that it stays clean longer or even removes ash automatically.

The patented combustion chamber fuel mixing system in the X and Hybrid series burners improves combustion process, and thus increases removal of ash. While the patented innovative rotary combustion chamber system in the Revo series burners ensures permanent automatic removal of ash, even when worse quality fuel is used.

Automatic operation

The advanced controllers fully monitor the burner operating settings and, if required, alarm about any incorrect situations. When the heat requirement of a building decreases, the controller reduces a fuel amount or stops the burner until temperature drops and then the burner is automatically restarted. Such precise fuel matching with the needs is particularly important because it affects economic operation. The burner operation can be additionally controlled by the room thermostat and also from the mobile phone or Internet service.

Fuel storage

Pellets are sold in tight and dry packaging from which they are to be poured into hoppers (silos). It is also possible to buy pellets blown directly from a tanker into a hopper. Pellets are most often packed into 15 or 25 kg bags or 1 tonne Big Bags. Transport and storage of pellets in bags is clean and comfortable. When storing pellets you need to ensure that they will not absorb moisture and therefore they should be stored in dry and well-ventilated room and isolated from the floor and walls. The Pellas X pellet hoppers are available in sizes of 300, 450, 600 and 1200 litres.

Pellets produced from wood waste give off a nice smell when burnt. An amount of ash left after pellet combustion fluctuates from 0.2 to 1% depending on its quality. From 10 to 47 kg of ash is produced annually when a building with an area of 160 m2 is heated. It means that a boiler needs seldom cleaning and, moreover, ash can be used as a fertilizer, because it contains minerals valuable for plants. When selecting pellets, it is worth to check if they are certified and if ash content is determined. The more ash, the less pellet calorific value is, which, in addition to economic result, also means more cleaning works at a boiler.

By selecting pellets as a heating fuel you take care of environment:

Re-use of waste

Pellets are manufactured from waste and after their combustion you obtain ash rich in minerals that can be used again as a fertilizer.

Pellet combustion does not affect CO₂ balance as carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere equals carbon dioxide absorbed by plants in photosynthesis process during their growth.

Quickly renewable fuel

Unlike oil, gas or coal, the biomass renewal process is very short, i.e. from one to several years.
